2:00pm-5:00pm
Ornelas Activity Center (formerly TASCA) @ UT Tyler
The OAC is located at 3500 County Road 262, Tyler, TX.

This is a new community event to celebrate the United Nations International Day of Peace and encourage community spirit.  The Festival is based on a  similar annual festival that is held in Belton, Texas.  The aim of the Art of Peace Festival, Tyler - is to promote a spirit of cooperation and community spirit through fellowship, dialogue, live music, poetry, art, refreshments, a presentation by our keynote musician/philanthropist, and a children’s area, among other activities.  The keynote concert and presentation will be made by singer/songwriter/noted international peaceworker David LaMotte.  You can learn more about David and about out other musical entertainment from Juan Carlos and Jeana Urena at our music page.

At the event, there will be original peace artwork for auction and information from local non-profits on how to get involved.  This year, any monies raised from the Art of Peace Festival will benefit PATH - People Attempting to Help.  Tickets are $10 a piece, and they will go to offset the cost of the program.  To pre-purchase your tickets, please visit our tickets page.

Sincerely,

2011 Art of Peace Festival Co-Chairs
Mary Andrews, Anne McCrady, Neal Katz
